“I have been in the industry over 10 years and back in 2017 I decided it was time to take the plunge and set up JDS Compressors.

Prior to being involved in the compressed air industry I was serving in HM Forces – the Royal Air Force to be precise. Where I enhanced my skill set within engineering not only gaining engineering skills but life skills. Its given me the work ethic and passion and drive I have today. We may be a young company but we have big plans to grow and thrive. The team here are second to none and I couldn’t do it without them. So thank you team JDS!”

“Since my son set up JDS Compressors Limited I have been slowly becoming more involved and now I am a full time member of the great team here.

Prior to working at JDS Compressors, I gained extensive experience as a Maintenance Engineer and was promoted through the ranks to Maintenance Manager and then onto Operations Manager. I have worked in heavy industry as well as more recently in a large logistics environment as the Maintenance and Project Manager.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family. I am also a keen clay shooter and fisherman. I can often be found on country walks with my family and dogs.”

“I have spent the past 30+ years in a variety of office-based roles. Joining the JDS team, I hope to continue to learn and grow, whilst sharing the experience, knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years to benefit the team and enable them to continue focusing on their passion and expertise in the compressor industry.

In my spare time, I am a keen cook and enjoy experimenting with food, particularly Indian. Whenever possible, I like to take time away with my family, which includes an elderly border collie and hyper springer spaniel, (sometimes even the lionhead bunny) for weekend breaks or longer holidays. We all enjoy the opportunity to explore new parts of the country, particularly the west country.”

“I have been full time with JDS Compressors for a year, however prior to this I would help James’ and the team out on all installations as I have a background in pipe fitting which crossed over perfectly and I am now competent on working on air compressors too.

The company and the staff are great to work with they go above and beyond to help in any way they can.

In my spare time you can find me on the golf course or taking long walks with my wonderful wife Sam, our beautiful daughter Aaria and ‘Frogga’ the dog!”

“I joined the JDS family in February 2024. It is a great team to be part of and I have been fully welcomed by all. Prior to joining, I have worked in office-based roles for the last 20+ years. I am looking forward to continuing to progress in this ever-expanding company. I have 2 teenage children who keep me on my toes, and we have recently got a new dog, a cocker spaniel called Dolly who is keeping us very busy. If there is any spare time left, I enjoy spending it with family and friends.”

“With over six years of experience working with various types of air compressors, I have developed an understanding of their functionality and maintenance. This experience has been instrumental in securing my position at JDS, where I have been able to apply my knowledge to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the company’s air compressor systems. Outside of work, I enjoy spending my spare time fishing and coaching football.”

“I have been employed in the golfing industry since leaving education and have undertaken a variety of duties including the maintenance and repairs to machinery. I have always had a mechanical mindset and like to get involved in problem solving and fixing a variety of machinery, whether it be a car, green keeping machinery, irrigation system etc. Therefore, when the opening arose to join JDS Compressors as a trainee engineer it seemed to good an opportunity to miss.

I had the advantage of knowing the rest of the team already… as you may have guessed by the surname I am married to Rachael, the lovely Service Co-ordinator.

In the short time that I have been with the JDS family I have already learnt a great deal and look forward to increasing my knowledge in the compressor industry.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with Rachael, of course, and family and when the weather permits going out on my motorbike.”

“I’ve spent many years working across finance and office management, supporting SMEs with their day-to-day financial operations and building efficient, reliable processes. I enjoy bringing structure and clarity to financial workflows, and I’m excited to use the experience I’ve gained throughout my career to support both JDS and the wider team.

Outside of work, I’m known for my slightly quirky side — giraffes and classic red telephone boxes are a bit of a theme! I love travelling, discovering new cultures, and making the most of new experiences. I also enjoy musical theatre shows, concerts, and spending time with family and friends, making the most of good company and great memories.”

I love football and spending time with family and being social in my free time, I’m joining the military later this year and look forward to becoming a part of a bigger picture and thanks to JDS I’m ready to face anything, head on.”

Tilly & Pip are James’ family pets and come to work every day helping out with making sure there isn’t too many biscuits in the cupboard!
